Although this is not directly spent by Congress, the US Postal Service is facing billions in l;osses that have to be made up somewhere. As a society are we alright with cutting service to just weekdays?
Daffy: That is dispicable! This is America and cutting services by 18% is a sign of decline. Think of the layoffs of postal employees - - the problems that will arise when people have one less day of service! Has it come to this?
Good Idea: Technology such as faxing and emailing has taken a chunk out of the need for snail mail. Other private services can take up the slack in providing urgent mail on the day service is dropped. It is the price we pay for trying to balance their unruly budget.
