Part of the agreement between President Obamaand Congress has been to cut annual aid to a program that gives free food to income eligible pregnant women and children up to age 5. The program had its funding cut by hundreds of millions of dollars unspent so far this year. Is this a good idea?
Daffy: Hey, it is really in our national interest to care for these folks. Preventing problems that would arise without the food aid; losing the counseling and support WIC gives these neighbors and helping them meet needs on tight budgets... don't cut them!
Good Idea: Unspent money set aside for WIC needs to be put back in the budget so we can help meet other priorities and bring down the debt. Seems that we over estimated the real need that is out there.
